Equality and Diversity
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service is committed to promoting equality and diversity. Equality and diversity is about understanding differences and ensuring that the right people receive the right services.
We aim to identify, understand, and eliminate all barriers that prevent access to services, information, and employment. The services we deliver are risk based according to the needs of particular groups.
We achieved Levels 3 and 4 under the former Local Government Equality Standard and achieved Excellence under the new Equality Framework in 2011. Please see our Equality Self Assessment Document (new window PDF 2.7 MB). We are aiming to be re-accredited as Excellent in 2016.
For further information on our commitment to equality and diversity please see our Corporate Equalities and Inclusion Strategy 2014 - 2016 (new window, PDF 1503KB) and our Equalities and Inclusion Action Plan 2014 - 2016 (new window, PDF 210KB).
If you have any queries or comments on this strategy, or on equality and diversity in general, kindly contact Melanie Hockenhull, the Equality and Inclusion Officer on 01606 868414.
