Draft plan for 2018/19
The draft plan follows on from the Service’s second Emergency Response Review, which was initially consulted upon last year and is underway at the moment. Work to examine several options as part of that review continues and are explained in further detail in the draft Plan and summary document, which can be found further down this page.
Proposals within the draft plan for 2018/19
Proposals within the draft plan include:
Cheshire Fire Authority’s proposal to increase its share of council tax by 1.99% in 2018/19.
Proposing to roll out our cardiac response programme to all fire stations across Cheshire.
Continuing work to review crewing arrangements at Penketh and Wilmslow fire stations; as well as the provision of the Service’s third aerial appliance, currently based at Macclesfield Fire Station.
Developing potential options to build new, replacement, stations in Chester, Crewe, Ellesmere Port and Warrington.
Commencing building of the Authority’s training centre at its Sadler Road site.
Refurbishing and improving the Authority’s fire stations and houses.
Providing additional funding to promote the adoption of sprinkler systems by local housing providers.
Reviewing the Service’s fire protection department to ensure it is able to respond to emerging demands following the Grenfell Tower fire.
Delivering the Service Transformation Plan to reflect the requirements of the Government’s fire reform agenda and deliver the action plan arising from the 2017 staff engagement survey.
Concluding the Blue Light Collaboration programme with Cheshire Constabulary.
Contributing to the Complex Dependencies Programme along with other local service providers.

Consultation - have your say
The consultation on the Authority’s draft Integrated Risk Management Plan 2018/19 has now closed. Feedback is currently being collated and will be reported back to Members of Cheshire Fire Authority at their meeting on 14th February 2018. Reports and agendas for this meeting will be available to view online prior to the meeting.
