Post Fire Support Team

The Post Fire Support Team help people cope in the aftermath of a minor domestic emergency, providing practical help, advice and support.

PFST work in teams of two or three and are based out of HQ in Winsford, where the bespoke vehicle is housed.

The team will attend minor domestic incidents on the request of the Officer in Charge to listen, support and advise individuals and families of fire safety, clean the affected area, remove excess water and ensure that the occupants are able to continue to utilise the affected area safely.

Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS)

The Fire and Emergency Support Service helps people cope in the aftermath of a fire or emergency, providing practical help, advice and comfort.

Based out of Birchwood Fire Station, the volunteers mobilise the specially equipped vehicle to attend a scene within 90 minutes. At the scene volunteers provide practical help in the form of food, clothing and assistance in dealing with external statutory bodies, In addition volunteers listen and offer emotional support.

This service operates ‘out of hours’ 6pm – 6am Monday – Friday and 24hours over weekends and bank holidays. To meet the response times volunteers will need access to transport and be able to travel safely to Birchwood fire station within 30 minutes.

This role will require volunteers to attend an interview with the Red Cross Service Coordinator.
