Car fire on M6 Southbound

Fire crews mobilised to a report of a car on fire on the M6 Motorway Southbound between junction 18 (Holmes Chapel) to 17 (Sandbach).  Once in attendance crews discovered a saloon car on the hard shoulder well alight and two breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.  The motorway was closed southbound while crews dealt with the fire.
