Staff from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service are celebrating after hitting their target of delivering 60,000 Home Safety Assessments (HSA's) in the past year.
This target was achieved on the last day of the financial year, with a couple in their 80's receiving the 60,000 HSA to be carried out by staff.
The Service signed up to achieving the target in this year's corporate plan and is delighted to announce that the goal was achieved.
The couple, Lt Col David McLellan OBE DL, and his wife Mrs Mary McLellan of Brooklands Road, Goostrey, received the last HSA from Fire Safety Advocates Alnoor Bhaloo and Lorna Thompson and had two smoke alarms fitted free of charge. They were also given valuable fire safety advice during the visit.
The couple were also given a 'contact assessment' by the Service which can provided access to a whole range of support services including help and advice from Age Concern.
Reaching this 60,000 target was the ultimate goal for the Service for this year and hopefully brings us closer to our vision of zero preventable deaths in Cheshire, Halton and Warrington.
Staff from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service can come to your home to check for any fire risks and install free working smoke alarms on each level of your home.
