Recycling
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service encourages recycling in the workplace. Working with our Waste Partners Suez, we maintain a 100% land-fill free position with our waste streams diverted to recycling, refuse derived fuel (RDF) and anaerobic digestion of food waste.
We currently report (February 2023) a recycling performance of 59%, with 6% recycled organic waste and 35% refuse derived fuel.
There is also a focus to reduce the waste produced and ensure we take all the measures available to reduce, re-use, repair and recycle. We actively work to ensure we protect depleting resources and work towards a more sustainable circular economy through waste management, procurement, and the guidelines of the waste hierarchy.
