Safe and well visits

We offer free 'Safe and Well Visits' for people who are aged over 65 and for people who are referred to us by partner agencies because they are considered to be at a particular risk.

Safe and Well Visits are available to Cheshire residents who are aged over 65. The visits will still incorporate the traditional fire safety information (and smoke alarm fitting), but will also offer additional advice on slips, trips and fall prevention; bowel cancer screening as well as offering additional support to those who wish to stop smoking, taking drugs or reduce their alcohol consumption.

Station Chaplain

Steve Parish is Fire Service Chaplain in Warrington, covering Stockton Heath and Birchwood fire stations as well as Warrington. He visits the stations trying to see each watch at least once every six weeks.

The object of informal contacts and conversations is to build bridges and make it easy if staff wish to approach the chaplain about something. Steve says it keeps him in touch with the real world rather than just dealing with 'church' matters.

There is an Association of Fire and Rescue Service Chaplains, and the aim of chaplains is to share the concerns, the interests, the problems and the opportunities of Fire Service life. Following church appointments in other areas. Steve is currently the only regular fire service chaplain in Cheshire. He can be contacted on 01925 631781 or at
