At Widnes we have 1 fire engine that responds to emergency calls in the local community and Cheshire 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The fire engine holds 1800 litres of water and carries various other items to help deal with each incident including:

• RTC (Road Traffic Collisions) Cutting equipment

• Hose

• Foam

• Breaking in equipment

• Height safety equipment

• Water safety equipment

• Decontamination and HAZMAT equipment

• Ladders

• Breathing apparatus

• First aid, Trauma Equipment and a defibrillator.

Widnes Fire Station is also a swift water rescue station. Each personnel are specially trained swift water technicians and can carry out dynamic rescues from incidents involving still or fast flowing water anywhere in Cheshire or assist nationally.
