About Wilmslow Fire Station
At Wilmslow fire station, as well as our regular training and attending incidents, we are involved with the following:
Free Home Fire Safety Checks
If you live in Cheshire, you can arrange for a Firefighter or a Community Safety Advocate to visit your home.
During the visit advice will be given on how to make your home safer, what to do in the event of a fire and what to do if you are trapped by a fire.
Free smoke alarms will also be fitted (if needed) with an explanation on how to maintain it correctly.

Carry out your own fire safety check

Road Safety Initiatives
We take part in campaigns to make everyone aware of road safety. We carry out educational sessions for youth groups which can include demonstrations on rescuing casualties from vehicles. We also attend driver engagement days with the local Police.
School visits
Firefighters go out to the local primary schools to give fire safety messages to children. These presentations are aimed at year 5 pupils and can include the use of a smoke tent to demonstrate what to do in a smoke filled room and, as part of this visit, we use Kidzone, part of the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service website.
