Hosted Events

Room Hire and Sleepover (Workshop) - 21st November2019


During sleepovers people are more at risk from fire, due to being less aware of their surroundings. It is the responsibility of the event organiser to ensure suitable fire safety measures are in place to alert those sleeping, allowing them to escape safely. Brilliant success with over 130 attendees.

Fire Safety within the Voluntary Sector (Workshop) - 9th April 2019


Following recent demand from members of community groups such as beavers, brownies, scouts, guides and other voluntary organisations, we hosted a workshop to inform responsible persons of their duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005. Great success with over 30 attendees.


Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service hosts NFSN Spring Meeting and AGM - 28th February 2019


As a member of the National Fire Sprinkler Network, we volunteered to host the NFSN Spring Meeting and AGM this February, inviting over 50 attendees, including those from a number of different Fire Authorities alongside members of the private sector who work in a fire-related industry. Positive feedback followed the event from members and we look forward to continue to work in partnership in the future.


Chester (Heritage) Multi-Agency Impact Event - 27th February 2019


As part of an initiative to protect the cities heritage buildings, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service teamed up with partner agencies to offer key fire safety advice and highlighted prominent safety concerns to local businesses in the city centre. Partners from Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire Police, CH1 Chester Bid and Chester Against Business Crime were all in attendance with stalls set up for the general public to gain valuable information on Business Safety.


Warrington (Birchwood) Multi-Agency Impact Event - 24th October 2018


Over 300 businesses in and around the Birchwood area of Warrington were visited by members of Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, with other representatives from other agencies in attendance. It was a really successful event with key messages delivered around arson awareness, business owner responsibilities under The Fire Safety Order and fire risk assessments. Representatives from the Protection Department, Operational Crews and Community Safety Apprentices were all in attendance.


Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service Sprinkler Demonstration - 5th October 2018


Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service Business Safety team organised and hosted a third sprinkler demonstration aimed at those responsible for high-rise blocks of flats, registered social landlords and care providers.


South Cheshire Chambers: 'Final Friday' - 31st August 2018


Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service volunteered to host this event jointly with South Cheshire Business Chambers, at Crewe Fire Station. These events are held on the last Friday of each month by members of the chambers to showcase their business and to network with other businesses.  There were a number of guest speakers who delivered advice around the effectiveness of sprinklers in an ongoing effort to support and promote the 12-month sprinkler campaign.


Macclesfield Multi-Agency Impact Event - 15th August 2018


Over 350 businesses were visited throughout the day as Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service staff joined up with over 5 other agencies, including: CheshirePolice, North West Ambulance Service, the Royal Navy, the Prince's Trust and Cheshire East Council.


West Cheshire Chambers: Sprinkler Event - 14th June 2018


Hosted at the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service at the Sadler Road site. This event was a jointly-hosted event between us and West Cheshire Chambers. Attendees from schools and businesses were invited to witness a live container burn with a sprinkler activation in a bedroom setting for a young person. This was used to help with the promotion of the ongoing 12-month sprinkler campaign, encouraging businesses to have sprinklers fitted in their premises.

Attended Events

Cheshire East joint visit to Mosque - 11th February 2019

A joint visit took place with members of the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service Fire Authority Members and Business Safety Manager Tracey Carter. The aim of this visit was to engage with members of the local community in order to provide advice and guidance around business safety and to follow up a request to visit the mosque.

New Business Network - 8th January 2019

A great networking event for local businesses held at Cheshire College - South and West. Business Safety Manager Tracey Carter delivered a presentation on how business owners, managers and employees can prepare and ensure documents are in place in the event of receiving an audit by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services, protection department. Information was also provided on what documentation we would expect to see during the inspection process.

Cheshire West and Chester Landlord's Forum - 8th November 2018

Carl Rainbird (Station Manager) and Tracey Carter (Business Safety Manager) delivered presentations to an audience of over 70 landlords. Discussions then took place around the responsibilities of landlords and what they should offer to be compliant in relation to The (fire safety) Order 2005. The event was a great success with a further request to present at the next landlord forum - (Date to be announced).

Warrington Chambers - 20th September 2018

A presentation was delivered at this event by the Business Safety Manager to chamber members on the impact that the Business Safety team have had, as well as exploring how the Business Safety team can assist with requirements under The (fire safety) Order 2005.  The enforcement process was also discussed and advice given on requirements during an audit.

The Nantwich Show - 25th July 2018

Representing the Business Safety team, the Business Safety Manager visited smaller businesses at their stalls, signposting them to relevant advice and guidance to help with being compliant under the Fire Safety Order 2005.

East Cheshire Chambers: 'Thursday Thirty' - 5th July 2018

The Business Safety Manager (Tracey Carter) was invited as one of thirty attendees to this event to deliver an awareness presentation in relation to the work that the Business Safety Team carry out. Cheshire East businesses were invited to ask questions and seek advice/support on preparing documents.

Halton Chambers: '1stuesday' - 3rd July 2018

The Business Safety Manager was invited to deliver a presentation to raise awareness on the role of the Business Safety Team and the support offered to businesses in the Halton area.

This event is held on the first Tuesday of every month by Halton Business Chambers and is regularly attended by the service.

The Cheshire Show -19th and 20th June 2018

Members of the Business Safety Team were in attendance across the two days of this event. We were proud to promote the work that is carried out by us and liaised with various members of the business community to provide learning around fire safety law and businesses' responsibilities.

North Cheshire Chambers Networking Event - 15th June 2018

Invited as a guest speaker, the Business Safety Manager attended this networking event to raise awareness around the role of the Business Safety Team and delivered a presentation how the benefits to commercial premises having sprinklers fitted to protect their business.

Cheshire West and Chester Landlord's Forum: HIMO Workshop - 10th May 2018

The Business Safety and Protection Manager attended this event in conjunction with Cheshire West and Chester Council. Taking place at the Civic Centre offices in Ellesmere Port, this forum provided an opportunity for landlords of HMOs (houses of multiple occupation) to learn and discuss their responsibilities in relation to fire safety law. It proved to be a successful event that was highly demanded.
