Book of condolence

Firefighter Jonathan Hughes

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the death of Firefighter Jonathan Hughes, a serving member of Red Watch in Widnes. Jonathan, aged 26, passed away on Friday 16 October after a long illness.

Jonathan first came into contact with the Service as a Fire Cadet at the age of 12. His ambition was always to become a firefighter, an ambition he never wavered from until it was realised in 2007.

Described by all who knew him as an incredibly positive person, the life and soul of any party and a joy to be around, he will be missed by us all.

Our thoughts are with his family and those members of his Watch who I know have done all they could to support their friend throughout his illness.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has set up a book of condolences so that people can leave condolences that will be presented to Jonathan’s family in a tribute to honour his memory.
