Attractions
On the stand will be:
-
Fearsome Fire Tour - Walk around our stand to find the answers to the fearsome fire tour. Questions will cover the history of the fire service over the last 2000 years!
-
Marquee - Step back in time as you discover the evolution of the firefighter. There will be artefacts, old uniforms and a timeline taking you through the past 2000 years so you can see how the firefighter transformed into the person we know today.
-
Vehicles - A red operational fire engine and midi fire engine will be on display. Firefighters will also be on hand to talk people through the various equipment on the vehicles and give them the opportunity to sit in the vehicles for photos.
-
Vintage Vehicles - There will be a selection of vintage vehicles staffed by enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers who will be able to inform people all about the fire engines of the past which are great for photo opportunities.
-
Performance - At 11am and 2pm on both days a short performance will take place where a firefighter from the past will meet a modern day firefighter. They will compare and contrast how they would tackle an incident using the equipment they were issued with at the time. It will be a great opportunity to highlight the changes to both uniform and equipment over the decades.
