The local community are being encouraged to find out more about Lymm Community Fire Station at their fun-filled open day this weekend.
The event will be held at the station on Cliff Lane in Lymm and will open its doors to the public from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 21 September.
The open day is free to the public and will include a number of equipment demonstrations conducted by firefighters, such as a rope rescue, use of the aerial ladder platform and a road traffic collision.
While eating ice cream from the stall, families can walk around the station to see the kitchen unit, vintage fire engines and police and ambulance vehicles.
There will also be the opportunity for children to have their faces painted and ride on the fun bus.
Station Manager Gareth Scott said: “Our open day only takes place once a year but they’re a great way for families to come together.
“It is a fun place to take children who get to sit inside old and new fire engines and learn about the kit and equipment that we use while also eating ice cream as they have a look around the station.
“We will also have a number of interesting demonstrations throughout the day and children can also be entertained by having their faces painted and taking a ride on the fun bus.
“While it will be an enlightening day to learn about what we do it will also be a fun-filled day too and I would encourage people come along and get involved.
“You may also pick up some vital safety messages to keep you and your family safe.”
