Car fire, Crewe

Firefighters dealt with a car on fire at an address on Underwood Lane. The car was well alight, and they used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to put it out. They also called the police due to it appearing to have been a deliberate ignition.

Wheelie bin fire, Runcorn

Firefighters were called when a fire broke out in a grassy area of Castle Rise. It was a wheelie bin that was well alight, along with some garden waste that had also caught fire. They used a single hose reel to put out the flames.

Tumble dryer fire, Nantwich

Firefighters were called to tackle a tumble dryer fire in an apartment. When they arrived there was no fire, but lots of smoke issuing form the tumble dryer, which had smokelogged the communal area of the building. They used a large fan to clear the smoke, isolated the electrics, and removed the tumble dryer from the building. They checked for any other signs of fire using a thermal imaging camera, and used a hose reel to cool the affected area.

Fire in the open, Winsford

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire on land off Delamere Street. Initially they struggled to locate the fire, but when they did so they found a small fire burning away on wasteland. They used a backpack to extinguish the flames.

Barbecue fire, Cuddington

Fire crews were called when a gas valve on a barbecue started leaking. It was reported that the leak could cause the canister to catch fire, but on arrival they found the leak was quite small and no longer on fire, and they were able to isolate it from the canister. The cylinder was removed from the barbecue and checked over with a thermal imaging camera to ensure it had been unaffected by the fire.

Grass fire, Ellesmere Port

Firefighters were called out in response to reports of a grass fire near the BMX track. Although the fire was out when they arrived, they were on hand to assist a 12-year-old girl who was suffering a medical episode. They called an ambulance and gave her oxygen until paramedics arrived to take her into their care.

Fire in the open, Crewe

Firefighters were called to deal with a fire in the open off Flag Lane. They found a small bundle of clothes had been set alight and left to burn, so they used a hand appliances to put the fire out.

Hay bale on fire, Chester

Firefighters were called following reports of hay bales on fire in Pearl Lane, Vicars Cross. They arrived to find a single hay bale well alight, and used a hose reel to extinguish the flames.

Car fire, Sandbach

Firefighters were called out to reports of a car on fire in Arclid. They arrived to find that the fire, which had been in the engine compartment, had been put out by the driver using milk.

Crews remained to damp down the engine and ensure it was cool enough to not reignite. No further hotspots were identified, and they left after around 20 minutes.

Garden fire in Widnes

Firefighters were called to a fire in the back garden of an address in West Bank Street, Widnes. Crews used a hose reel to put out the fire.

Two-vehicle-collison in Widnes

  • Attendance:
    Two fire engines attended - one from Penketh and one from Widnes
Crews attended to a road traffic collision on Leigh Avenue in Widnes involving two cars.

No one was trapped inside the vehicle and one woman was handed into the care of paramedics.

The vehicles were then made safe by firefighters.

Wheelie bin fire in Warrington

    Two fire engines attended - one from Warrington and one from Penketh
Firefighters attended to a wheelie bin fire on Hopwood Street in Warrington.

The bin was extinguished using a hose reel.

Crews then checked the fire hadn't spread to the property nearby before making the area safe.

Tree fire in Malpas

A hose reel was used to put out a fire involving a tree on Springfield Road in Malpas.

The thermal imaging camera was then used to check the fire was fully extinguished.

Crews then made the area safe.

Small fire in Widnes

Firefighters were called to a small fire in a garden on Somerville Road, Widnes. Crews used a hose reel to put out the fire.

Fire in the open in Runcorn

At 12.45am firefighters were called to a report of a fire in the open in Meadow Row, Runcorn.
On arrival the crew found a small quantity of rubbish well alight next to a tree.
The fire had affected the tree.
Firefighters used water to extinguish the fire and then cut away the affected part of the tree.
They were in attendance for more than 15 minutes.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Fire in a field in Crewe

Shortly before 8pm firefighters were called to a report of a fire in the open on Stoneley Road, near Groby Road, in Crewe.
On arrival the crew found a small unattended fire in a field.
Firefighters used water to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.

Fire in woodland in Warrington

At around 5.45pm firefighters were called to a report of a fire in the open off Brock Road in Birchwood, Warrington.
On arrival the crew found a shopping trolley filled with rubbish on fire in woodland.
Firefighters extinguished the fire with water and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Tumble dryer fire in Bollington

At 5.20pm firefighters were called to a report of a fire involving a tumble dryer at a domestic property in Irwell Rise, Bollington.
The fire was out on arrival.
Firefighters removed the tumble dryer from the address and were in attendance for around five minutes.

Smoke coming from a microwave in Runcorn

    Two fire engines attended, one from Runcorn and one from Penketh
At 3.15pm firefighters were called to a report of smoke coming from a microwave at a domestic property in Worcester Court, Runcorn.
They made sure that the microwave was safe and cleared the smoke using a large fan.
Firefighters were in attendance for around 20 minutes.

Bedroom fire in Ellesmere Port

    Kinnerley Road, Whitby, Ellesmere Port
  • Attendance:
    Two fire engines attended from Ellesmere Port
At 2.45pm firefighters were called to a report of a fire at a house on Kinnerley Road in Whitby, Ellesmere Port.
On arrival crews found a fire in one of the bedrooms.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Once the fire was out the bedroom was damped down to make it safe and a large fan was used to clear smoke from the property.
Firefighters were in attendance for around 40 minutes.
