Bonfire spreads to trees at a farm in Disley

Shortly after 6.30pm firefighters were called to a report of a fire in Disley.

On arrival at Redhouse Lane crews discovered that it was a case on controlled burning at a farm.

The bonfire had been left unattended and had spread to nearby conifer trees.

Firefighters spoke to the farmer and used a hose reel jet to bring the fire under control.

They extinguished the fire involving the trees and made them safe. 

Firefighters then handed the incident over to the farmer.

They were  in attendance for around 50 minutes.
