Firefighters were called to a fire in a shared garage which had spread to a house in Moreton Drive, Poynton.

All occupants were accounted for. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used ladders and three hose reel jets to put out the fire.

They then cut away and removed roof tiles from the garage while investigating hotspots with a thermal imaging camera and damping down the area.

They also used a large fan to disperse smoke from the loft area and continued to damp down the roof area.

Crews were in attendance for approximately six hours and 20 minutes.
