Shortly after 6am firefighters from Crewe were called to reports of a vehicle fire on McNeill Avenue, Crewe.

On arrival the crew found the engine compartment of a saloon car was well alight.

One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The crew were detained at the address for around one hour.
