Car fire in Warrington

At around 11.15pm firefighters from Stockton Heath attended reports of a car fire on St Elphins Close in Warrington.

On arrival the crew found a black hatchback car which was well alight.

One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and a 23-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of arson.
