Car fire on M62

Details

Firefighters attended to a car well alight on the M62 westbound carriageway between junction 10 to junction nine.

Wearing one breathing apparatus, a hose reel was used to put out the flames.

A thermal imaging camera checked the Fiat Punto's temperature and crews continued to damp down.

The fire is believed to have been caused by overheating in engine compartment.

Highways England are arranging recovery of the vehicle.
