Car on fire in High Peak

Macclesfield Road, Kettleshulme, High Peak

Three fire engines attended, one from Bollington and two from Macclesfield


Shortly before 1.40pm firefighters were called to reports of a car being on fire on Macclesfield Road in Kettleshulme, High Peak.

On arrival the crews found the vehicle well alight at the side of the carriageway.

No-one was in or with the car.

The carriageway was temporarily closed as the crews worked at the scene.

Two firefighters each used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

They then damped the car down to make it safe.

The crews also prevented run-off water from entering the drains.

Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour.
