One fire engine attended from Macclesfield


At around 3.45pm firefighters were informed of a vehicle being on fire on Chelford Road in Henbury, near Macclesfield.

On arrival the crew found the small car well alight on the main carriageway outside The Cock Inn.

A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.

They then damped the car down to make it safe.

Temperatures were monitored with a thermal imaging camera.

Firefighters also assisted police with managing traffic.

The car was removed from the carriageway.

Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour and 20 minutes.
