Shortly after 12 noon firefighters were called to a report of a fire in Nickolson Close, Mickle Trafford, near Chester.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire, which did not spread to the inside of the garage.

Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to check that the fire had not spread to the inside of the garage.

The fire is believed to have been started accidentally as a result of ashes from a log burner having been placed in a wheelie bin.
