Electrical fault in Chester

DetailsFirefighters from Chester attended reports of a small explosion on Liverpool Road. On arrival it was found that a manhole had exploded due to an electrical fault.
The crew have since left the scene, but Liverpool Road remains closed in both directions, from Morrison's Roundabout to Brook Lane, whilst engineers from Scottish Power deal with the fault.
Residents in the nearby area are currently being advised to stay indoors at the current time.

Update from Cheshire Police: Liverpool Road is due to open at 3pm, once temporary traffic lights are in place.
