Explosion at a house in Warrington

At around 3pm firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Heath Lane in Croft, Warrington.
On arrival crews discovered that there had been an explosion in the kitchen and that all persons were accounted for.
They also discovered that a man had been injured.
The area was cordoned off as firefighters worked at the scene.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
The casualty was handed over to the care of paramedics. He was taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor burns.
Firefighters were in attendance for around two hours and 40 minutes.
Police also attended.
A joint fire and police investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the fire.
