Fire at a flat in Warrington

Three fire engines attended, one from Penketh, one from Lymm and one from Birchwood


At around 10.10am firefighters were called to a report of smoke coming from a flat on Wilson Patten Street in Warrington town centre.

On arrival all persons were accounted for. Two firefighters entered the first floor flat and extinguished a small fire using a hose reel jet. Fire crews were in attendance for around 40 minutes.

The fire is believed to have been started by a lit cigarette that had been left unattended.
