Fire at recycling plant in Widnes

Details

Firefighters have tackled a fire affecting recycling waste in Widnes.

A digger was used to remove unaffected materials and firefighters then used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. Fire crews contained the small smouldering fire using a covering jet and a thermal imaging camera was used to monitor the affected refuse pile and make sure that the scene was safe.
