Fire at the back of a house in Elton

Glebecroft Avenue, Elton

Two fire engines attended, one from Ellesmere Port and one from Crewe

At around 2.40pm firefighters were called to reports of a fire on Glebecroft Avenue in Elton, near Chester.
On arrival the crews discovered a fire at the back of a house.
Firefighters extinguished the fire in the open with a hose reel jet.
They then damped the area down to make it safe.
Smoke from the fire had entered the house and caused some damage to it.
Firefighters inspected the property - including the roof space - to make sure that it was safe.
They cleared the smoke from the house with a large fan.
Firefighters were in attendance for more than half-an-hour.
