One fire engine attended from Crewe

At around 6.15pm firefighters were called to a report of a fire in the back garden of a domestic property in Mount Pleasant, Crewe.

On arrival the crew discovered that it was a case of controlled burning.

The fire was overloaded so firefighters extinguished it with a hose reel jet.

They also checked that nearby flats were safe due to their close proximity to the fire.

Firefighters cooled down brickwork with a hose reel jet and monitored temperatures with a thermal imaging camera.

They left the scene once they were satisfied that the flats were safe.

Firefighters were in attendance for more that half-an-hour.
