Gas filled domestic property in Congleton

Two fire engines attended, from Macclesfield and Congleton


Shortly after 1.30pm firefighters received reports of a strong smell of gas at an a domestic property in Swaledale Avenue, Congleton.

Gas monitors were used and crews discovered that a gas hob had been left switched on.

Firefighters turned off the cooker and isolated the gas supply to the property.

They also ventilated the property.

A gas engineer subsequently attended to make sure that the address was safe.

Firefighters were in attendance for more than an hour.
