HGV fire on M62

M62, junction 10, East

One fire engine from Warrington and one from Stockton Heath

One hose reel was used to cool a HGV which had been on fire on the M62.

The fire was caused by an overheated rear axel and appeared to be out on arrival of the crews who used a thermal imaging to check for hotspots and cooled the area down.

Highways attended to close off lane one of the motorway while the incident was dealt with.
