JCB on fire at industrial estate in Runcorn

At around 4am firefighters received a report of a fire involving a JCB in the yard of a businesses premises at Whitehouse Industrial Estate, Runcorn.

On arrival at Northwich Road crews found the mechanical excavator well alight.

A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

They then damped down the JCB to make it safe.

The JCB's temperature was monitored with a thermal imaging camera.

Firefighters were in attendance for around 50 minutes.
