Large vehicle fire in Macclesfield

Prestbury Road, Macclesfield.

Two fire engines attended from Macclesfield and Wilmslow

Shortly before 12pm firefighters were called to reports of a large vehicle fire on Prestbury Road in Macclesfield. 

Two fire engines from Macclesfield and Wilmslow attended the scene and on arrival the found a mini road sweeper which was well alight. 

One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to tackle the fire. 

Police also attended the scene to manage traffic. 

The cause of the fire is believed to be a mechanical fault. 

The crews were detained at the scene for around one hour.
