Updated at 8am on Tuesday, October 14

The aerial appliance attended to enable firefighters to fight the fire from above and two main water jets and ground monitors were also used.

At 01:14 the canal boat started to tilt on the port side. It then sank at around 01:43. This was due to the significant damage to the structure of the vessel. Waterways and environment agencies were informed. Crews were at the scene for just under six hours.
