Four fire engines attended, one from Warrington, one from Lymm, one from Penketh and one from Birchwood


HGV fire on the M62Shortly after 7.30am Cheshire Fire and Recue Service received multiple reports of a fire on the M62 near Warrington.

Four fire engines were sent to the scene and on arrival they discovered the cab of an articulated lorry well alight on the hard shoulder.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

The crews then used hose reel jets to damp down the lorry and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

The eastbound carriageway was temporarily closed as a result of the incident.

There were no reports of anyone being injured as a result on the incident.
