Rescue of casualties in Northwich

Woodlands Grove, Northwich.

One fire engine attended from Lymm, Northwich and Warrington along with the rope rescue unit from lymm and a boat from Warrington.

Firefighters were called to steep embankment by the canal off Woodlands Grove in Northwich. Two casualties were at the bottom of the embankment and could not get back up. A firefighter and rope rescue officer using safety equipment descended the embankment to assess them. The rescue boat was then launched rescue the casualties. The casualties were then assessed by paramedics at the scene but it is believed they did not need hospital treatment.
