Small dining room fire in Widnes

Two fire engines attended, one from Widnes and one from Penketh

At 8.20pm firefighters were called to a report of smoke alarms sounding due to a fire at a domestic property in Masefield Avenue, Widnes.
On arrival crews discovered that it was a small fire in a dining room and that everyone was accounted for.
The fire involved a two-wheeled motorised personal vehicle.
The property was evacuated and the gas and electricity supplies to it were isolated.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and then used a large fan to clear smoke from the property.
The crews also assessed the occupiers to see if they were suffering from effects of smoke inhalation.
It was decided that paramedics did not need to attend.
Firefighters were in attendance for more than an hour.
An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
It is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
