Shortly before 10am firefighters were informed of a fire in a commercial building in Grove Street, Wilmslow.

The small fire was out on arrival and no-one had been injured as a result of it.

Firefighters inspected the premises to make sure that the fire had not spread.

They utilised a short extension ladder to access the loft space.

They were in attendance for more than two hours.

An investigation into the cause of the fire has taken place.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Anyone with any information about the fire should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 767909, give the details via or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
