Firefighters to run London Marathon for local charities

Firefighters to run London Marathon for local charitiesTwo Northwich firefighters are running this year’s London Marathon to help raise money for two local charities.

Crew Manager Steve Campbell and his colleague Firefighter Steve Tucker will be running the marathon on Sunday, April 28 for the two good causes.

One beneficiary is Northwich Rugby Union Football Club community sports club junior section, which relies purely on the goodwill of volunteers and fundraising to provide kit and equipment for its young players.

The second charity benefiting from any money raised is Tinysteps. This is a Cheshire West and Chester charity which helps provides sensory play for children and young people with additional needs and their families.

Steve Campbell said: “Being firefighters at Northwich Fire Station we work to help many groups and organisations as part of our job, and running this marathon will take us out of our comfort zone, both mentally and physically, but it will be worth it if we can help both these great causes.”
