Fun for all the family at Warrington Fire Station
A fun day for families to find out more about Warrington Community Fire Station has been organised by local firefighters.
The station on the A49 on Winnick Road will open its doors to the public from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 8 September.
The open day is free to the public and will include a number of safety displays and a road traffic collision and height safety demonstration conducted by firefighters.
Visitors will have the chance to look around fire and rescue vehicles, including vintage fire engines.
There will also be the opportunity to try go karting, carousal rides or face painting and treat yourself to ice-cream as well as visit stalls for The Fire Fighters Charity, Air Ambulance and Cheshire Police.
Station Manager Neil Winstanley said: “This is a fantastic way for the local community to come together to find out about the work that we do and to have fun at the same time.
“Children, and adults too, can have a look around the station, sit inside a fire engine and learn about the kit and equipment that our firefighters use.
“We will also have a number of interesting demonstrations throughout the day and there will also be displays face painting and ice cream to keep everybody entertained.
“It will be a fun and informative day for all the family and I would encourage as many people as possible to come along.
“I can guarantee you will learn a lot about the life of a firefighter and the roles that they and the station play in serving your community while also picking up some vital safety messages to keep your family safe.”
