6. Road safety - check that your vehicle is well maintained

Please check that your vehicle is well maintained and serviced:

• Check your tyres

• Keep your battery fully charged

• In bad weather reduce your speed

• Adjust your driving to the weather conditions

• Make sure wipers and lights are in good working order

• Be aware that hail, heavy snow and rain reduce visibility

• Add anti-freeze to the radiator and winter additive to the windscreen washer bottles

• Check that tyres have plenty of tread depth and are maintained at the correct pressure

• Wash the car frequently to get rid of the salt and dirt that builds up in bad weather
