RESPECT programme

RESPECT comprises three different elements:

  • Primary RESPECT

  • On the Streets led by Halton Youth Service

A 7-week programme for 12 - 16 year olds run by staff from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service, with occasional input from partner organisations.

The programme offer various exciting activities which will help to develop resilience, self worth and confidence to help young people achieve their full potential.

Please contact the prevention department on 01606 868700 and speak to Chris Mitchell.

Primary RESPECT is a 6 week programme for 9 - 11 year olds. The programme aims to boost the children's confidence and self esteem.

After the course has completed, the young people's achievements are celebrated in an assembly.

Pupils take part in activities such as hose running, 'blind' trails, quizzes and roll call.

On the streets

The On The Streets programme is for 13 to 19 year olds who live in Halton. The main focus is on taking part in activities and achieving accredited outcomes.

While this greater participation in youth service and community activities may lead to a reduction in anti-social behaviour, hoax calls, small deliberate fires, and school exclusions, these are not explicit objectives of the project.
