STAR Awards Blog

On the evening of the 28th March 2012 Watch Manager Nick Regan, Fire Cadet Jen Regan and Fire Cadet Liam Davenport accompanied by fire cadet leaders and Watch Manager Brownrigg attended the Cheshire Fire and Rescue STAR Awards presentation at Mere Golf Resort and Spa, to receive the award for the most effective work in the community on behalf of the Sandbach unit.

The unit was recognised by the Service for its contribution to the local community and hard work when selling poppies in the Holmes Chapel area in November last year. During this period the unit managed to collect £5,459.19 for the Royal British Legion poppy appeal, a record for the unit. Both events were enjoyed by all involved. Well done, great result!
