Fire protection

We are the Enforcing Authority for the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 within our county. The primary role of the Protection department is to ensure that fire safety legislation is enforced in non-domestic premises, commercial premises and common parts of domestic premises across Cheshire.

As the enforcing authority we are committed to working with businesses to ensure premises are safe. The effects of a fire can be devastating in terms of lives lost, injuries, and damage to property. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places a legal requirement upon employers and responsible persons to ensure the fire safety of their premises regardless of fire service intervention.

Farm Fire Safety Event

In a proactive move to protect local farms and agriculture, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service is set to host a comprehensive, free,  Farm Fire Safety Event on 1 November 2023 at Sadler Road, Winsford CW9 2FQ.

This initiative comes as a response to the critical need to ensure the safety and security of farming operations in the Cheshire region, and to educate on the legal requirements under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
