Firefighters were called to a property on Oak Road where hot embers were seen to be dropping down a chimney behind a log burner.
On inspection firefighters found large quantities of debris and twigs smouldering in the chimney breast, with thermal imaging scans detecting a heat source higher up the chimney.
The crew used hand tools, and a ladder and hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
