Crews dealt with a road traffic collision involving three cars and one van. They worked to release one casualty from a vehicle and pass them to the care of North West Ambulance Service. Two dogs were in one of the cars, hence the deployment of the animal rescue unit. Sadly one dog died in the collision. The incident affected two lanes of the motorway and traffic was heavy. People were advised to avoid the area if possible on the Service's social media channels.
