Three fire engines from Stockton Heath, Powey Lane and Penketh, plus the water rescue boat from Warrington and technical rescue unit and aerial ladder platform from Lymm.

Crews specially trained in rescues from fast flowing water rescued a member of the public who had entered the River Mersey. The individual was passed to the care of ambulance personnel.
