Crews were called to a fire in a semi-detached house in Crewe.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Once extinguished, a high-pressure fan was used to ventilate the property of smoke.
The neighbouring property was also checked for signs of fire spread and smoke.
All persons were accounted for, and two people were taken to hospital by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
