Three fire engines from Lymm, Stockton Heath and Warrington

Fire crews responded to a road traffic collision involving two cars, a light goods vehicle (LGV), and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). The incident caused one of the vehicles to emit smoke.
Highways and ambulance services were already on scene and had closed the northbound carriageway and begun treating casualties.
Firefighters removed a damaged battery from one of the vehicles and monitored it for signs of overheating. After a short time, the damaged battery could be passed over for recovery.
Fire crews left the incident with Highways.
