On-call firefighter recruitment
We are encouraging people to step forward and explore the opportunities the fire and rescue service can offer people who have a passion for working in and helping Northwich by becoming paid on-call firefighters.
Working as an on-call firefighter means being involved in a wide range of activities in the village and surrounding area, from responding to emergency calls to carrying out work in the community to support people’s needs or providing prevention advice to help keep people safe.
In return, the fire service can offer flexible work to fit around study, work and family commitments, first class training and development opportunities and a chance to make a difference in your local community.

Safe and well visits
We offer free 'Safe and Well Visits' for people who are aged over 65 and for people who are referred to us by partner agencies because they are considered to be at a particular risk.
Safe and Well Visits are available to Cheshire residents who are aged over 65. The visits will still incorporate the traditional fire safety information (and smoke alarm fitting), but will also offer additional advice on slips, trips and fall prevention; bowel cancer screening as well as offering additional support to those who wish to stop smoking, taking drugs or reduce their alcohol consumption.
