Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service is a high performing, innovative and progressive organisation that has high ambitions for the service that it provides to the communities and people of Cheshire.
The Fire Authority are looking to recruit two highly motivated individuals to join the existing Service Leadership Team to help build upon the significant progress that has been achieved in recent years.
The successful candidates will possess a detailed understanding of the issues relating to the Fire and Rescue Service at national and local levels, have strong political acuity and be inspiring and outstanding leaders. The Fire Authority will also be looking for individuals who are genuinely committed to staff engagement, diversity and inclusion and who will be able to influence others whilst ensuring the Service has strong leadership to shape and direct service provision and uphold the existing high standards of performance, and the positive culture currently in place. Candidates will also need to demonstrate resilience and excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to execute ambitious programmes of change.
Applications are invited from competent substantive Group Managers and existing Area Managers who are in possession of, or who are working towards a degree level qualification. The selection process will comprise of 3 stages: Stage 1 comprising of an Incident Command Assessment and Media Assessment; Stage 2 consisting of a technical interview with members of the Service Leadership Team, and a stakeholder panel interview; Stage 3 is a presentation and interview with Members of the Fire Authority’s Staffing Committee. Each stage will represent a filter, and only successful candidates will progress through the process.
